Interesting question on who goes at A's SS, Franky. Onbase is almost the same, so it's Campy's speed vs Kubiaks's def. I'm very bearish on steals and hate paying for them. I've always found SBs to be overrated and running speed is a lot less useful for guys who don't get on as much. Yet, it seems like steals have a possible benefit in the 1969 environment-- with it's low team on base, relatively low doubles overall. Let's say I'm intrigued...

The Cubs and Phillies can't draft only from their team since they don't have 25 players. The Indians, Yankees, and Cardinals can't draft from their teams only since they have only 9 P.

Joe,

Check the rules. We are doing a 5 round supplemental draft before the autodraft is run. So, there won't be a problem.

Joe:

Your team is to consist of 20 players from the original team roster. The supplement five round draft is to select players from the other twelve teams not involved in the league. In the case of the Indians, Yankees and Cardinals, at least one of the players in the draft will need to be a pitcher, and should the manager choose not to have any of the 9 pitchers on their roster, additional pitchers would need to be selected to replace those.

If I had the Indians, I would probably be tempted to dump McDowell and get two * pitchers with the freed up money, especially given the quality of their other pitchers. Other managers would likely have other strategies.
