I like the 3 bid idea.

Re: keepers, not sure why you'd want to keep it at SOM value or higher? Why penalize a team that got a bargain?

You could say, to keep a player you must bump his bid salary by 10%, or some other %. Then place a max of a certain number of keepers.

In my opinion, the "keeper factor" makes trading more interesting and more likely, especially with no cap. It would be a way for teams to get better. Traded their high priced players (non keepers) for guys they could use "next year".

I kept keeper part at SOM salary or above because people might have drafted differently trying for low priced guys at end if they knew there were keepers. This keeps the keepers to players they think are values or that they like at a price that was not driven as much by this draft. In the future I totally agree we should use an any player qualification as that would lead to an interesting draft and subsequent dealing and would be reflected in strategy from beginning. Of course the main ingredient will be continuity of participation. Otherwise we would have to get someone to replace existing owner which is a lttle problematic.

Probably still need a salary restriction on trades to prevent dumping that affects races. Many trades could occur between seasons where price is irrellevent. Still need salary cap for values to be values.

I also like the 3 bid idea.

I would prefer that we start with 80 mil in bidding dollars rather than 100, just because that is what the listed salaries are designed for.

Bubba & Wayne signed by Risden

Postby Risden » Tue Mar 16, 2010 1:21 pm

They are NOT America's newest country duo, but the newly-signed utility outfielders for Risden's team. Bubba Morton signed for 0.5 and Wayne Comer signed for 0.7.

Since I have only two roster spots left and a standing bid for one player, I will nominate utility infielder Terry Harmon (starting at 0.5).

T Harmon 0.5 Risden
S Hovley 0.6 gfdwarf 3/16 12:33
D Pavletich 0.6 Risden 3/16 11:40
F Stanley 0.6 rjnewman 3/16 10:18
E Stroud 0.7 gorshar 3/15 21:35

To All - Who has Terry Harmon? I still show that he is undrafted in this auction league. I did a quick review and couldn't find who has claimed him.

Thanks in advance - I hope that's my only mistake.

This happened back on March 8. Looks like it is the last bid.
