Being somewhat patient

Just wondering if there's any way I'll get to pick my team today. If not today, then maybe tomorrow. This could be pretty interesting.

I just realized my pick will be limited to three teams in whatever division isn't filled. Joy.

How will the FA draft order be determined? First two picks will actually be three independent drafts if I understand this league correctly.

You are correct; the first two picks will be 3 independent drafts - one draft in each of the AL East, NL East and NL West; where each draft is limited to free agents within the same division. FA draft order is reverse of team salary and serpentine.

Let me give an example. First a big HUZZAH! to AllStarInc for picking the Phillies "as a matter of principle." Then, let's assume that the Mets are picked. So, the Phil's get the first pick of any free agent on the Cardinals or Expos (remind me again, who did Bob Gibson pitch for?), then the Cubs, Mets, Pirates, Pirates, Mets, Cubs, and Phils.

Next, we have a 6 round draft that is open to all free agents including free agents from the AL West. Again, in reverse order of team salary and serpentine. Assuming no one picks the Indians, Padres or Expos; the Phils pick first again, and Dick Allen could have Reggie as a team mate.

Each team is limited to their free agent budget; once that is below 0.50 mil; they are out of the draft.

Postby Rjnewman » Wed Nov 16, 2011 1:45 pm
