Our historical single season sets

[quote:62ef481ff8="Risden"]Note to All: Knuckeballing relief ace Hoyt Wilhelm is available for trade from the weakest sister in the bunch west of the Mississippi (the Angels).

Not looking for a king's ransom in return. Just a guy or two that can catch the fall and throw it back (on a fly; bounces don't count  ) and/or hit .260, or even .250.

Looking forward to a challenging league!![/quote:62ef481ff8]

Now that all teams have been selected, how does this look for a divisional setup?

[b:e920e29034]East - Boston, New York Yankees, Philadelphia, and Washington

Central - Chicago Cubs and White Sox, Montreal, St. Louis

West - California, Los Angeles, Oakland and Houston[/b:e920e29034]

Feedback? (Maybe Houston and St. Louis need to be swapped so that we don't have the Astrodome and Oakland Coliseum in the same division).

In addition, should we set up the draft on somdraft, or just continue on this thread?

Draft Order: Montreal, Philadelphia, ChiSox, Angels, Cubs, Houston, Senators, Dodgers, A's, Bosox, Yankees and Cards.

Remaining Teams to Select Players from: Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Pilots.

Please be reminded that all teams play in their respective home stadiums.

Divisions and draft

Postby GFDWARF07 » Mon Jul 06, 2009 12:25 pm

I think the alignment you suggested looks good, Ken. St. Louis is better off in the Central rivalry-wise in my view.

And I think the draft can easily be done here - a simple five rounds should be easy to manage on this thread. So as I understand it, unless a specific trade is swung prior to or during the draft (i.e. Risden trades Wilhelm to another owner) every one of our draft picks needs to be from the 12 unselected teams. After the draft we can pick up discarded players form the 12 selected franchises too via add/drop or trade, as long as we maintain the salary cap ($65M) and the 20 player rule. Is this correct?

I am leaving Friday for a family vacation, so hope we can get through the five rounds by sometime Thursday!

Thanks again for coordinating, Ken!

I hope I am wrong but I really don't see 60 individual picks happening prior to Friday. You see how long it took us to get through 1 round of team picking. Multiply that by 5 and you have an estimated draft time of a 5 round draft. We'll just wait for you to return if we are not done before you leave.

You won't have to wait - I will proxy with Risden's help - already planned for that just in case....

Let's just get as far as we can.

Roster size

Rules say roster size is up to manager. Are we able to have more than 25?

Teams may have more than 25 players, so long as they stay within the $65 M salary limit. Any additional players beyond the team's minimum 20 and the additional five drafted will need to be acquired after the league has been formed and draft process completed. Please be reminded that there will be no waiver period.
