Commish

Postby JOHNEIGENAUER » Fri Nov 23, 2007 9:04 pm

Hi Folks

I am not sure how I got to be commissioner.. but OK.

First, rest assured that RickSmith and I (jeigenauer) are both in the league. We just got caught off guard because we had no idea we would be drafting this weekend.

Next, I think that we should allow as much time as needed for AT LEAST a week because of Thanksgiving and because several people did not know that the draft started.

Finally, I think that we should make sure that we all agree that we accept the decision to draft low to high. That is unconventional and whoever made that decision did so without the group's consent.

The 80 MM no DH seems acceptable because I have read through all the posts and everyone indicates either that he prefers 80MM no DH or is willing to accept that rule.

BTW... thanks for all the concern about my whereabouts. The next time I go camping in Yosemite, I am going to make sure that I enter a draft before I go just in case I get lost!

This is Rick,

I just wanted to wish everybogy good luck.
I am leaving Saturday morning and coming
back Sunday night. Hopefully I don't hold the
draft up to much. Good luck.

Does anyone know what time they pick the East Coast lotteries during the week?

I am not sure what time the East Coast picks their lottery numbers. I also think that "low is high" is goofy, but LMBombers did state the rules of this league were to be "low to high" - that message was sent on 11/22/07 by LMBombers at 6:24 PM CST, which I believe (and hope) is BEFORE lottery numbers are picked. I also can see that no message edits were done to that post, so I believe that ALL is on the up-and-up...I will verify that tonight after I do some other errands.

My personal opinion: Having the first few picks is not that great of slot anyway, particularly for the 1969 game. The talent pool is thin and everyone will have a chance to get bona fide stars BEFORE the talent becomes as weak as the 2007 Notre Dame Football Team. Picks after Round 8 or so will be a great equilibrium.

Given that, it is now turn for John and Rick (11 and 12) in Round 1 to make their picks. Hopefully, we can get some drafting in prior to the point in which John & Rick need to leave.

Low to High

Postby centerfielder17 » Fri Nov 23, 2007 9:53 pm

As the guy who got the number 1 pick, I couldn't have picked a worse draft to 'win' the top spot.

If we want to turn it around, it's OK by me!

Unfortunately, it was pretty clear before the numbers were drawn that the picks would be low to high.

Now that we are started, we might as well keep going.

Picks

Postby JOHNEIGENAUER » Fri Nov 23, 2007 9:56 pm

John E. picked.

Rick Smith will pick around 8:00 PM Pacific Time. That should get us through round two and all the way back through round 3 tomorrow.

I'm here. I apologize for not checking in this morning. I thought the draft would be held up with jeigenauer and RickSmith but I was sure wrong.

I picked low to high at random. What difference does it make. I can assure everyone that I had not checked DC's lotto number and I don't think it was even out that early.
