Hoyt was a late bloomer - broke into the bigs at age 29 in 1952 and played 21 seasons!

As to the live draft only being set up as 20 Rounds......I think we should autodraft the rest of the players. I can see mistakes happening of drafting players already drafted here if we try to set up another live draft of 4 rounds. I suggest live drafting 19 players and 1 stadium and autodrafting the rest. Or we could live draft 20 players and have a seperate random number set for the stadiums which we can do here on the boards. Just my 2¢

Yes it is Hoyt Wilhelm. He was just slightly before my time so I didn't recognize him. You guys that are about 5 years older than me probably do remember him.

To post a pic here you have to find a picture on the web that you like. Copy the URL from the web. This link MUST end in .jpg or it won't work. Come back here and start typing your message. Click on the Img button where you want the picture to be and then paste your link followed by the Img* button. Easy as that.

This one is bound to be a little harder. For a clue look at the what is on the guy's grey shirt. Also remember that I'm not using guys that didn't play much. This guy was a starting player for years.

Draft

Postby GFDWARF07 » Mon May 04, 2009 4:54 pm

I appreciate the autodraft suggestion, but really want to draft 24 here somehow, as that is what we advertised and what people signed-up for. We should be able to get through just four more rounds on this thread without much trouble - and we can all watch for repeat picks.

I also contacted Major Deegan to see if he can switch it to 24 somehow.

congrats to gfdwarf for pulling out the last 3 games of the finals and beating my team....impressive (maybe that is why I went for Jerry Moses in this draft)! LOL

Apparently this last picture has stumped you guys. Look at the grey shirt which gives away the team. He did not play for any other team in his long career. He is not a pitcher. You can also tell he is right handed by how he is holding the pen.

Norm Cash (lefty but maybe throws right)? Or Freehan? Doesn't look like Northrup

Thanks, sneeze. I am usually in the other boat (losing to a team with a poorer record), but I'll certainly take it. And I hope Moses leads your team out of the wilderness!
