Ballparks and Themes

I'm filthy rich with 1969 credits on the heels of my championship. This was a Sick's Stadium team that had a basic lineup of (vs-R):

Carew 2B
M. Alou CF
Petrocelli SS
R. Allen 1B
R. White LF
Clemente RF (monstrous year)
E. Hendricks C
R. Joseph 3B

Pavletich hit 5th and caught vs L. White moved to leadoff with Carew 8th vs L, and Pagan platooned with Joseph.

Now I am wondering what other "themes" have been successful. All pitching and D in a pitchers' park doesn't seem to cut the mustard with these cards. Tried that, and was beaten soundly within an inch of my life.

Please tell me (via team link), that bashing away in a hitters park is NOT the only way to win with these cards.

Hey Bleacher - I've won one trophy in six tries. I will try to post a link to my championship team later (Comiskey Park) I agree with your point about top tier pitching. It seems better to spend on top sluggers and fill your staff with starters under 4 mil! I saw where a 69 league was waiting to fill so I transferred a credit for a new team, but the league had filled already. Join our auto league (2 teams in) or maybe you have an idea to fill a league another way. J Law

John,

I'll see you in that league. Give me 24 HRs or so...

Hey, bleach, here's an Anaheim Stadium team that won the division handily. As you said, was not all pitching and D, but definitely not a bunch of bashers. Had the best record in the league until the last 2 series of the season, when I rested all my regulars to prevent injuries going into the playoffs.

Did get smoked by a team of bashers in the playoffs, though. :(
