I've been noticing that some players cards say the balance is one way or the other but it doesn't match up with whats on the card . Example : Bench : he has 15 OB chances vs LHP and 16 vs RHP and is a 1L . I would think he should have been an E or 1R instead of 1L . Is there some criteria for balance I'm missing here?

I think [b:9073a51792]JKolak [/b:9073a51792] already pointed out that Shibe should be re-named "Connie Mack Stadium".

As for Bench's balance rating - that's an SOM issue and its always been a problem. I find the SOM balance ratings to be a useful guide, but only in a very general sense. If you want to know what the card does, you've got to look at it more closely...

The Philadelphia Athletics of the American League opened the ballpark in 1909 after abandoning Columbia Park. The park was first called Shibe Park, named for Benjamin Shibe, who was one of the initial owners along with Connie Mack. Mr. Mack eventually acquired full ownership, but kept the name the same. The park was finally renamed Connie Mack Stadium in 1953 in honor of the gentlemanly and modest Mr. Mack, who by then was known as "The Grand Old Man of Baseball".
