Slow Hook Did Not Occur

I suffered a loss in a recent game, and am questioning Hal's maneuvering of my team.
My pitcher, Bob Gibson, was leading a game 2-1 going into the top of the 7th inning, and he was scheduled to bat with one out and a batter on second. Prior to the game, I had checked the box "Slow Hook" for Gibson, and would have thought that given that instruction that he would have remained in the game and batted in that situation. Instead, he was pinch hit for, and Gibson's relief pitcher eventually blew the save and I ended up losing the game.

Because of the runner in scoring position with only a one-run lead, did that somehow override my instruction for a slow hook? Anybody have any similar experiences?
