Playing in the Metro with two other metro parks in my division. Many Sicks parks in league.

They would platoon in the small parks.

actually they would work in any park, they have so much pure power that even in a hitters park they will perform very well for under 4 mil.

Heck they have better numbers combined then 6+ mil players!!! They do have a 2 injury though so get a 3rd back up for them.

That combo is definitely a nice hitting platoon, but in addition to the injury you also are playing some terrible defense in LF. Both are rated 4e9 for the corner OF slots and Held has a +2 arm as well.

As a DH this is a great combo, but alot of poor defenders in the set are good DH values.

I personally would play this platoon in the OF, but that defense significantly reduces there over all value.

Woody Held is playing over his head in a league I am in

I am in TSN_441 and another team has Wood Held. Yes the $1.96 guy who hit .143 in real life with a slugging avg of .317 is tearing the cover off the ball through the leagues first 24 games (of which he has played 19).

His 24 game (only played 19 though) stats are:

59 ABs
10 HR's
30 RBI's
.847 Slugging
.254 BA
23 K's

This is in a straight up $80M no DH no them league. His home field is Shibe (should be Connie Mack). Don't see how he can keep up a pace like this, but this guy is amazing so far when considering his real life stats and cheap price.

Does anybody else find it extremely inconsistent that in ATG2, TSN will not give us the cards for guys like Ben Paschal, Dale Mitchell and Don Mossi but will throw all kinds of wacko cards in the 1969 set?

A few examples: Held, Francona, Hutton, Valdespino, etc...

I thought certain cards were kept out of ATG2 in the name of "unrealistically skewed game results"? Why is that not happening here? These 1969 cards are much crazier than a lot of the ATG2 cards that were held out.

I hope 1969 does not devolve into a scenario where everyone is battling for the Held/Hicks platoon on their draft card.

It's absolutely necessary with the very limited player pool. Many positions barely have enough usable players for one per team.

It's amazing how many guys have 25+ walk chances on one side or both. A deeper pen might be necessary, since all those walks could push pitch counts up faster.

I actually got both in a live draft, and in late rounds, and was surprised they were there, fortunetly it's a dh league, but Im planning on playing held at 3b. you think THEIR offense is bad, Ive got lee may in LEFTFIELD! would love to have francona, but the fact he chews up lhp makes him a little less attractive then if he did it against rhp, which is one of the drawbacks of held. lots of hitters parks, so I think most teams will have to go for power. the reason so many freak cards are included is so that some of us who don't just draft 12-team all-star leagues could actually play a given squad as is, and have enough to field a full season team.
