Injuries

Having played several seasons of the 2005 game I noticed that there are some great cards in that set for players that have huge injury risks. If you are willing to take a gamble they could burn you by being injured all the time or pay off big by staying healthy for most of the season.

In the 1969 cards that I have seen I haven't noticed any huge injuries to key players. The biggest injury I have noticed for a star is an injury on a roll of 3 for Clemente.

Am I missing the big injuries or if not why aren't they there. It must be that they had better Team Doctors back then :P

no MRIs back then. guys played with aches/pains beacuse, for example, no one knew whether he had a slightly torn rotor cuff. They just sucked it up until they had to be shot like a horse.

Better medicine leads to longer careers but fewer 162 games-played seasons.

I have Clemente and in the first 4 games he was a terror until he was injured for 7 games. Not a good ration starting off.
