After losing their first 5 games, rumors from Atlanta indicate that Chris Chambliss is unhappy as the backup first baseman to Bob Horner.

"At least let me hit against righties," Chambliss said, "or trade me to someone who will."

Without a DH opportunity, it is unlikely that Chambliss will see the field much in Atlanta. GMs around baseball are currently assessing their 1B/DH picture to see if there's room for a player with a near .400 OBP. When asked if he would listen to offers for Chambliss, GM Jon Bois remarked, "We'll listen to anything at this point .. we've got more holes than swiss cheese."

Padres fall just short.

What's a manager gotta do to get some starting pitching?

Kinda surprised that John Denny was able to be as effective against 7 lefty hitters as he was. On paper, it looked like a sure win for the Padres...

Nice to see Tony Gwynn answer Eric Davis with a home run of his own in the first...

Steve Garvey continues to impress, even netting a pinch hit single against a right handed pitcher...

John Kruk may find himself on the trading block if he can't start getting some extra base hits. Walk are nice, but sometimes you have to take a chance and swing your bat pal...

Looking forward to getting Benito Santiago back in the lineup tonight. He's the only Padre position player without a hit this season...

Padres and Yankees have begun discussion about Henry Cotto's availability. Due to busy schedules, talks are slow, but communication has been made both ways...

Ed Wojna looks to be making his first start of the season on Tuesday. Cy Young award forthcoming...
