Postby genegrid » Thu Nov 03, 2005 10:24 am

I would like to find 12 players who would like to commit to at least 4 seasons. Here are the rules.

1. Lotto to draft a franchise.(High to low pick 3)
2. Cannot have the same franchise more than once.
3. Must always have at least 20 franchise players on your roster.
4. You may fill squad with FA's that are not on a franchise within the
league.
5. All 24 franchises would be available for each new league.
6. Always use your Franchise's home park.
7. DH or no DH up for vote each new league including season 1.
8. Salary limit up for vote each new league including season 1.
9. Trades allowed among FA's only. All of your franchise players remain your property and cannot be traded or picked up by other franchises.

What makes this a 4 year commitment? Why not just one year for this theme? Let's say the Orioles win the first league. Assuming the last place team has first shot at picking his team for the second league, they would then take the Orioles and win that league. This would continue for 2 more years?

We could go year by year. The beauty of adding FA's makes each franchise competitive. I am in one now and the A's, Giants and Braves are at the top. Minnesota and Baltimore have losing records.

The winner will be the person who fills his holes with players that are compatible to his park or with defense that compliments his pitchers, etc.

Live drafts drag on to long for me so let's auto draft the free agents. It will also be a waivers league.

I'm interested but would like to suggest another option. I've seen ATG2 leagues like this: Choose a pitching staff from one team and hitters from another. You would have two choices of parks plus that would add variety to each of the four leagues, because of the different possible combinations.

What do you think?

Also, you would only have to keep...say 8 pithcers and 12 hitters from those original teams.
