Can anyone stop Ed?

Have Ed Kirpatrick in 2 leagues, have him set not to steal across the board (he is a D stealer)
and here are his SB totals for each:

6 SBs 7 Caught Stealing
6 SBs 9 Caught Stealing

What's with Ed? Does he misread signs? Does he not know he is a wounded buffalo when it comes to running?

who is behind him and what is the Hit and run rating for them?

You know I hadn't noticed that before but I have Kirkpatrick and after 99 games he has 0 SBs and 5 CSs. I have him set on don't steal and usually have my SB setting on conservative. I am not sure what gives with that. My H&R setting is also always on conservative. At least he is stealing at a better rate for you! :?

Conservative still leaves some room for H&R to occur. And if the runner is a D SB and the batter behind him is not stellar where his best chance to get a hit is H&R then HAL will do it. And the charts have those rolls that say batter misses pitch runner must steal. That overrides your don't steal setting. If you do not want the h&R to occur then do not choose conservative, choose extra conservative.

The hitter behind "Don't Stop Me" Ed, is usually Roseboro, who is set to not H&R....

He has an * and is a reasonbly good # but the automatic throw out #'s are a killer. I don't know why Hal is ignoring the do not steal check however.

I'm having the same problem with Dick McAuliffe... "D" base stealer, I have him set to not steal, the 2 guys behind him are set not to hit and run, but yet Dick is 3-for-9 in steal attempts.

Hmmmm....

I've got Big Ed in a franchise theme league with the Royals, where everybody runs (118 SBs in 129 games) because I have no other way to score runs. He's 4/5. We call him "Lightnin' Ed."
