The win moves the Phillies to within 10 games of the first place Mets.
Padres starter Ed Wojna finally took a loss and drops to 4-1 on the year. The Phillies now have 19 wins on the year, with Don Carman (.359/.440/.518), having 6 of them now. The Padres still lead the NL West by 3 games, and now travel to New York to take on the Mets for a 4 game set.
The Mets look forward to the return of Gary Carter who returns on Tuesday after missing 15 games.
