I have never used Oliva before. I am wondering what experiences have you had with him. I am playing him in RFK, where he will lose power but I love that 1 in rf.

I've always been a little disappointed with Tony. Here he is on a team in Comiskey, a pitcher's park. The stats are pretty typical for him: okay BA, lousy obp, some doubles but not great run production.
626 70 36 12 83 24 7 6 .278 .399 .306
You get the benefit of the defense, so that helps. I only use him as a supplement to a very strong lineup. If you rely on him to be one of your main bats, you're likely to get burned.

I agree with the previous post. Never seems to hit the same numbers as he did in real-life 1969.
Good, but not great. Certainly not a bargain, in any case.

Ditto to the above posts. The last time I used him was in Jarry Park, a real band box. His stats:
680 101 38 30 110 39 7 6 .307
Pretty good (and very close to his actual stats), but in Jarry Park I expected better. By comparison, Killebrew hit 58 HR, Wynn hit 48, Carty 32.
His card doesn't match his actual skills, I think.

I would agree that his production at the plate doesn't usually match up. One point to consider is he is good with the glove. Also he is a good runner.
