Seaver's toughest challenge seemed to be in staying awake between innings on the mound, as the White Sox scored in 5 different innings and had 23 runners reach base in the contest.
Seattle slugger and potential MVP candidate Ken Phelps was injured in the game and is expected to miss almost a week. Phelps currently leads the majors with 20 HR's.
In the National League: The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated Sid Fernandez twice, winning both games of an important doubleheader versus the New York Mets.
