....1969. I've played 70's and 80's with limited success for about a year. I'm not very good at it, but I enjoy trying. What are the differences between 1969 and the 70's and 80's (besides only having one card)? Are there any leagues forming in which I would be welcome as a beginner?

Check out the following link to see the available 1969 leagues. They are pretty slow to fill:

loriebama,

I'd try any and all leagues. Auto leagues or there's a live draft league forming, if you can make the time commitment. Like any of the other leagues, you'll have to learn by experience. If there are teams doing well, study them. A good source is checking out the teams that work well in the 'record books' link. What ballparks are they using and what players? I'd also recommend against any slanted type ballparks until you really get a good grip on who are the 1st tier players, 2nd tier, 3rd tier etc and how to set a draft to get who you need. It's easy to draft poorly in 1969 and there's not a lot of player depth to adjust your team. A slanted ballpark could easily become a deathtrap if your draft bombs.

Which league?

Why don't you try our LIVE DRAFT league, which has only two spots open. It's a serpentine draft in which everyone will play in the same home stadium (Municipal).

Any questions, just check out the forum entry above this one or send a private message to jeigenauer.

Thanks
