I have Stargell and Howard. What is a better defensive alignment? Stargell in left and Howard at first
lf-4(-4)e9 and 1b-4e30

or

Stargell at first and Howard in left
1b-4e18 and lf-4(+3)e7

Happy Thanksgiving! I am enjoying the '69 season although my squads have hovered around .500.

Stargell in left. If your going to use a 4 go with the better arm to help gun down base runners.

I may even play Stargell in right and move Northrup to left for the better arm in right.

Stargell in the outfield, and Howard at firstbase. The 7-point advantage in outfield throwing arm seems much more important than the 12-point loss in 1B error rating.

Not even close. Play Stargell in the outfield.

If you were in my league I'd tell you to put Stargell at 1B

Your team will be hurt more by errors than by a weak arm, especially in LF. So, I'd guess that playing Stargell at 1B and Howard in LF will be slightly more effective than the other way around.
