Too Much Pitching?

I'm pretty new to SOM. I've been actively studying all the great posts here on the boards and I believe I have too much pitching.
I have the following Pitchers:
Mike Scott
Jack Morris
Bert Blyleven
Mark Langston
Mike Boddicker
Tom Browning
All *SP's, but knowing that I only need 4 *SP's. It's still Pre-Season and I can trade for some positions I need to strengthen. I'm playing in the Astrodome, which I know is a pitchers park. I'm just trying to find active trading partners that can "look past" the "real stats" and see what kind of value the * really is. I'm not going to drop any of these players, just so I can have some Long Relievers. I hope I'm correct in saying Mike Scott is untouchable, because I have him in his home park. I'd be grateful for any advice. I'm also not sure how to link my team, so you guys could take a closer look.

I don't know what park you are in but I would not trade Scott for anything. I also would cut Browning and Boddicker for a 50¢ SP of any kind that will never pitch.
That would leave you with an excellent rotation of Scott, Blyleven, Langston and Morris.

I'm in the Astrodome, so I wasn't about to do anything with Scott. I'm in a $200M league, so I don't think money is ever going to factor into it. I did pick up Tommy John as a reliever. I'll see if I can trade Browning/Boddicker or both for a RF. Thanks

In a $200 million league there is no such thing as too much of anything. Maximize the dollars spent on your everyday players, your top four SP's (assuming a 4-man rotation) and your bullpen.
Unless my math is fuzzy, you'l never spent anywhere near the $200 million.

I understand what you're saying, but if I have 2 pitchers that will just sit and can't relieve...that's a waste, the way I look at it. So, I'm trying to flip a couple of them for help in other areas. Money isn't going to factor in this league, I'm just trying to put the best team together that I can.

Pitching ALWAYS helps . Hopefully you built a good pen to accent the SP. I have been using 6 SP with 5 RP and have had some good success with that theory . If you have 4 *SP then you can pick and choose the right time to use the other 2 . The '86 game is not ATG . The player pool is much smaller thus less options . Plus '86 is mostly pitchers parks and nuetrals with few bomber parks .

So would you do a Per-Game Strategy? I was wondering about that...Trying to find good matchups. I also want to get as much out of my starters as I can. My Bullpen is adequate...I think?
Tommy John
Dan Plesac
Mark Clear
Dale Mohorcic
Todd Worrell

That's a decent pen . Yes , I use the per game starter system . I try to get the best match ups going .
Here's my Astrodome team , which of course , I'm very pleased with at this point .

2nd best staff and 5th in hitting . I like the way I am getting a nice balanced attack with the O and my staff has been very good thus far .

I also have Pete O'Brien and Bill Doran. Looks like their production is pretty good. Good OBP for both.
