Cheater in the League

Is there any recourse to take against a manager that is breaking agreed upon league rules?

We limited the number of free agents any one team could have to encourage competitiveness but as soon as the manager ratings came back he completely ignored the gentlemans agreement that all eleven others are abiding by and added multiple extra players.

TSN can do nothing about a manager breaking particular league rules as long as he isn't trashing his team and trying to lose games. Your only recourse is to publish his name here (public humiliation) so that the rest of us can be warned of his actions and would be wary of joing a theme league with that owner in the future.

I didn't agree to a rule that says you can swap out your free agents. I agreed to the number of free agents each team could get after the draft, then you play with the team you start with. That was the rules I agreed to, my grabing other free agents was in response to 'jschrah' realizing that his Cubs bullpen sucked and deciding to drop Jim Rice to get the best closer avaiable, it had nothing to do with the manager ratings, I think they are bulls*it anyway, so don't go posting crap that you haven't looked into first!

And in case you haven't noticed, I only kept the players I grabed for one day to prove a point, then I droped them all and went back to the team I satrted with. No one else in the league seems to care about it anyway, it's a lame league since you can do nothing to improve your team! What's the point of just sitting back and watching 'Hal' determine which team is going to win the league? I mean come on, in an average SOM league your at least a GM who gets to make moves and try to improve the team, in this league your just a spectator, no different that the "1986 take two", the only thing I have gotten out of that league is that I'll never do one like it again and that "jschrah" is an a** hole, thats it!

eacox - I have been in MANY theme leagues (hence the term "theme") in which the rosters are fixed - be they one team or two team themes. The challenge in such a theme is to manage the team, rather than GM the team.
Strat is not Rottiserie/fantasy baseball - unless you do the 200M or live draft leagues. Yes, you can GM and make changes to hopefully improve your team, but mostly once the season starts, it's about managing.
It's about diagnosing the problems with the team and seeing what you can do to fix it. Maybe you have the right players, but your #3 hitter is being intentionally walked and your #8 hitter is hitting .320. So, you realize that HAL is pitching around your #3 because your #4 guy is not as good as you thought for that spot in the order. Etc. Etc.
I have one team right now that is winning beyond what it should, but I believe it is because I prooperly set up my bullpen and have a #2 guy performing outstanding to bridge the gap from the leadoff hitter to the run producers.

I am in this league with you eacox, and the rules do not state anywhere that a team must stick with the free agents picked up for opening day. The rules only stated that you had to stick with the team's roster you selected (e.g. Twins) "with the exception of the 1, 2 or 3 FA listed by each team." Unfortunately, this does not specifically imply that you must have the player you picked. This only specifies that you must adhere to the maximum number of free agents on your roster.

And maybe I'm wrong, but if it had been any other team than the Cubs, I don't think you would have made the same amount of stink. You and the Cubs have been jawing at each other like little schoolgirls all season.
