Can George Bell be my main power hitter and bat clean up in Royals. I will probably have a line up that looks like this against RHP:This is an 80 million dollar league.
1. Doran 2B
2. Yount CF
3. Gwynn RF
4. Bell LF
5. Presley 3B
6. Tabler DH
7. Clark 1B
8. Gedmen C
9. Franco SS
Against LHP Lake will play catcher and I will move Yount down in the line up?
Anyone willing to pick my line up apart I will thank in advance!

I don't think you really need any power in 86 Royals Stadium. I have played several teams in Royals/Astrodome (almost identical), and they have all peformed very well (average 90+ wins) with minimal power (well under 100 HRs). Try to lead the league in pitching and OBP -- you don't need power with the 86 set in those parks.

So should I dump George Bell for a cheaper less powerful LF, and upgrade my pen. I did not get any of the five starters I tried to draft. However I wound up putting together a rotation of Hershiser,Mike LaCross, Tom browning, and Bob Forsch. The only good starters left are Clancy,Ramussen,Gulickson, and that is it, for starters with an aterick! My closer is Mark Clear, and I have two set up men in the two million dollar range, one righty ,and one lefty.
My lineup is pretty good for Royals. High OBP and good speed.I just do not know if I should get a different LF, because there is not a lot of room for up grading my rotation. Unless you think one of the starters I mention up top are more valuable than George Bell. Thanks for all the tips!

I would probably go with the highest OBP/speed 1 or 2 leftfielder, and you may have extra money to upgrade elsewhere. I have had good luck with Raines (probably not available) and Beniquez in LF in those parks. I have also had luck with LaCoss and Browning in those parks, not as much with Orel, but not sure if there really is an upgrade starter.

I could go with Andy Van Slyke, However he has rarely performed for me, and Bell is almost as good a fielder. I figure it can't hurt to have a guy hit a few homers behind Doran,Yount, and Gwynn. The other thing I like about Bell is the 680+ plate appearances. Against lefties I will switch Yount and Julio Franco.Raines is not available. Also he is over 10 million dollars.
Thanks

Keep Bell, for all the reasons you say. Pretty nice lineup. LaCoss and Browning have done well for me -- those are great 2-3 guys for your stuff.
