For all those that showed interest in starting a 2nd league using the same parameters as the league just started I'm setting up a 2nd Version.

Need someone to handle the selection process as I'm not familiar with the lottery.

The only suggestion is whether we want to continue the requirement of having to pick 1 team from both AL & NL. Will do so if 3 managers want to keep it that way/

Bob, you need to pick a lottery state. I think it is a good change to open up the team selection to any team rather than one AL and one NL team.

I can manage the lottery order for you if you like. The lottery results draft order will be lowest number to highest number.

to the AL/NL theme. Think about it, the teams drafting in the middle will not be restricted to the best remaining AL/NL team. They can choose from the entire remaining pool. They will have a big advantage. Look back at our last draft and think about how the 9-12 spots could(in this draft) choose any remaining team for their second choice. Now think about how the 1-4 will have even worse than the Padres to pick from. So what I'm saying is the middle teams will get to pick from a bigger pool and the 1-3 will have an even worse selection. I think we all can see that currently the middle teams are quite strong as it is....why do they need more/better teams to pick from?

splinter...

You keep insulting my Padres, making Ed Spezio mad.

He's gonna take it out on your pitching, mark my words...

I think splinter makes valid points re: AL/NL and the advantages that a middle team would enjoy.

The Padres would still be the last choice to be presumably paired with the Orioles, but it is a valid point. :) My apologies to the Spezio Clan.

I will monitor these boards and may jump in later, but I have too many things going in the next week or so to make a real commitment to the league.
