The game ended in the 17th inning when Steve Blass, the pitcher, was selected by HAL as a pinch hitter (probably because the bench had been exhausted by that time), and Blass connected for a home run.

The winning pitcher, Denny Higgins, had pitched in the two previous games, and thus was likely "fatigued", so I dodged a bullet there.

HAL has managed to redeem himself for disobeying my instructions which resulted in a loss to my team a few days ago.

yep, hal blows. he pinched hit for gibby when gibby had the lead, conservative bullpen, and slow hook. but what comes around usually goes around.

looks like you got a "make up call"
