Recently finished a fun 86 season where my team stole 516 bases with 157 caught. It was a really fun team to manage. This was in a non-DH league, so with the pitcher batting, and only 4 combined SBs out of the catcher's spot, I think it did pretty well.

I did really well in the autodraft for this league. I only missed on Henderson and Coleman for offense. After waivers, I ended up with a Kal Daniels/John Cangelosi platoon in left which performed pretty well and added some power to a lineup that needed it. I had to put up with 35 errors out of Lopes playing every day at 3rd, but he scored 115 runs and stole 97 bases, so I think it sort of evened things out for this kind of team. My only real disappointment was Eric Davis. I've usually seen much better hitting numbers out of him, and he seemed to be caught stealing much more than I thought he should.

I think the key value steal guys are Otis Nixon, John Cangelosi, and Davey Lopes. Von Hayes is about the only 1st baseman who can steal at all, and Tracy Jones was a good platoon mate (although it _was_ an expensive platoon). I didn't see any way to get many SBs from the catchers spot, so I just got a cheap platoon there.

This team made it to the 7the game of the finals, but couldn't take the title.

Any other 86 speed teams out there?
