Who's gonna endorse Yaz?

Right now, he's on my bench. I've got Rico Carty and Tito Francona platooning vs. R and L respectively. Yaz was to be the starter, but I'm so unimpressed with his card and his performance out of the gate reinforced that. Injury to Dick Allen has put him back in the starting lineup, but he's out of favor.

Can anyone endorse a poor potato farmer who's not quite ready to fish for stripers in the Merrimack?

The tough part is that I have Francona (and I need OBP at the top of the lineup) and Carty working as a nice platoon.

I do have injury potential at 1B, LF, and CF, so Yaz covers me at all those spots. I might not get the max out of all these players, but at least I'll have a strong lineup at all times.

The good news is that last night I swept Abner! :D

i am doing miserable in 69....Kind of... I win during the regular season and lose the playoffs....3 semi loses so far, haven't even made a finals yet. With a .540+ winning% you would think I could win SOMETHING ...LOL. I even got shut out of a playoff spot with an 89 win team....sigh

After 150 games, Yaz is having a pretty good year for me...Great defense and bullet-proof, this season is in Comiskey park (tends to favor pitching):

Yastrzemski, C. 578 AB, 77 R, 27 2Bs, 31 HR, 91 RBI, 64 BB, 11 SB, 3 E, .260 BA, .491 SLG, .329 OBP.

He did start slow for me, but with the salary he makes, you either play him or dump him.

Yaz is awesome against right-handers, but seems to approach the Mendoza line against lefties. I don't want to build a team around him, but he is definitely a good role-player.

For now, he's a defensive replacement. Of course, I have a lot of interchangeable parts and injury issues so I foresee at least 300-400 at bats for him.

yaz is too expensive to be a defensive replacement. not impressed by what i have seen from him. he or roy white might be the 2 most overpriced lf's.
