If you sign up for the economic stimulus league, the league starts today. However, the economic stimulus league has specific rules and might not be the best league for a beginner. On the other hand, players in 1969 are especially mellow (by which I mean old) and nice, so you'd get plenty of help and patience.
In a regular 69 league, it usually takes about a week or so to fill.

How long does it take to start after you join? How about instantly! There are now 11 teams, 1 more and the league is full and the draft occurs IMMEDIATELY! This would be the first time this happens in the entire history of 69. Instant drafting pleasure. What could be more exciting and gratifying?

Dwarf, THanks for joining up. The league is now full. I got overly excited with Bernie's new announcement. As it turns out, the new instant drafting doesn't start til Tuesday. So, we'll have to wait til midnite EST.
