The 200 mil cap is confusing. Actually, teams will end up with about 40-60 mil worth of the very worst players. I'll change the cap to 60 mil, but that could be raised if anyone manages to draft above 60 while keeping with the rules.

If a team manages to go above the cap, I'll raise the cap. But that shouldn't happen because teams are nominating the worst players. I the dialogue pasted above, I was trying to explain how the league will be made of the worst players. Unless other managers object, I'm not going to let Rick's nominations stand because they will make Rick's team uncompetitive.

On second thought, I might allow Rick's nominations if that is a serious strategy.

Actually it was not "well thought out strategy," I just strongly dislike Deron Johnson, Merv Rettenmund, Jack Hiatt, etc, and never want them on my team again.

I will stick with my current list of .5 guys and appreciate the second chance.

Comments on the nomination phase so far. Right now, we are 2/3 of the way through Round 1. There have been 32 pitchers nominated of whom 13 can start. 11 catchers and 13 other position players. So, the early nominations have been very pitcher heavy. That means the later stages of the nomination will be hitter heavy since each manager nominates 9 pitchers and 14 hitters.

Before the draft starts, we may need to make a couple small adjustments so that each team will make it through the autodraft. We will probably need to limit each team to drafting at most 3 catchers; let's see how many catchers will be in the final pool. Likewise, after nominating is complete, we'll need to see where we are with the number of starting pitchers. Each team needs at least 5; so we may need a drafting rule to ensure at least 5 starters per team.

Even though we haven't seen a lot of hitters nominated, thanks to the high perecentage of utility players, we can see that there will be plenty of players at each position other than catcher.
