1969 RAISE THE MOUND! No hitters >2M -drafting
Posted: Thu Sep 15, 2011 2:29 pmAlright folks, as we head into fall, I wanted to see if we could fill another 1969 theme league for a Diamond Dope draft. Awhile back we did a mashed taters league with no pitchers over $2M allowed. This time we will do the converse, allowing NO HITTERS OVER 2.0M. Paul Popovich and Jose Pagan are the highest priced hitters available. On the other hand, you can load up on great pitching!
This will be an $80M, no DH, serpentine draft on Diamond Dope, divisions determined by draft order (1,4,7, 10 in East and so forth). Draft order to be randomized by a third party on the ATG forum.
Will Marichal or Dierker win 30 games? How many pitchers will achieve 300 K's? Or an ERA below 1.00? How many no hitters?
Some positions will be slim pickings - there will be some errors committed.... There are 245 hitters by my count below the "Popovich Line". If any positions "run out" that manager will have to start a non-position player in that spot, at a "5" for defense. Should make for some fun box scores!
