Here are the head to head records for League A - not sure who advances though:

Cummings vs. Kav = 4-8
Cummings vs. Coffee = 6-6
Cummings vs. Glenn = 6-6

Kav vs. Coffee = 6-6
Kav vs. Glenn = 9-15
Kav vs. Cummings = 8-4

Glenn vs. Cummings = 6-6
Glenn vs. Coffee = 3-9
Glenn vs. Kav = 15-9

Coffee vs. Cummings = 6-6
Coffee vs. Kav = 6-6
Coffee vs. Glenn = 9-3

Let the mathematicians have at it!

I'm not a mathematician, but I would suggest on the basis of those records that Coffee should advance to the next round as he had the most number of "weighted" wins against the other three opponents.

Robert - don't worry about the 8) icon appearing in my record. I also think that it is pretty 8) that I am advancing to the second round!

No matter what is decided Big time Kudos to all who made it through. As Rob often says:

" [i:19a2b5868e]Yet another loto photo finish[/i:19a2b5868e] " 8)

The last thing I saw posted re: tiebreakers was:

[quote:19a2b5868e]Because there is H2H competition in EACH LEAGUE(I don't know what I was thinking) - The 1st Tiebreaker between teams is H2H records. The 2nd Tiebreaker is Runs Scored vs Runs Allowed(Or the difference between the scores)vs the tied opponent... [/quote:19a2b5868e]

Whereas H2H between [i:19a2b5868e]two[/i:19a2b5868e] would be easier to figure out and here we have 4 teams I think the posts above make a lot of sense, find the "weighted" H2H, and if there were to be any ties after that (which there aren't) then we could look into Run Diff. between Opps.

Either way it looks like I fell a tad short.

Looking forward to following the Loto trek...just post me the link to a boxscore and I'll keep the league links alive :D

Once again, thanks again Rob for having us around 8)

WOW!!!

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Sat Aug 19, 2006 3:29 am

That is even more complicated than I thought...I would think that whoever had the highest win Pct. vs the opposing 3 teams could be a fair way of determining an H2H Tiebreaker. If that is unsatisfactory, then a talley of run differential of games played among the 4 teams could come into play as a tiebreaker. But I think win Pct. among the 4 is fair unless it is disputed.

It is late, I have worked a lot AND am also in process of moving this weekend. So I need some sleep and am pretty delirious already. Let me get thru my day and worknite tomorrow and hopefully this can be resolved among the 4 teams themselves. If not, I will consult only members of League A and attempt to make the most fair decision to all parties involved. But I think what has been mentioned already is pretty fair. More tomorrow. Robert

the smileys come when you put an 8 and a right parenthesis next to each other, which is a smiley abbreviation. put a space between the 8 and ) and you will be fine.

no space: 8)

space: 8 )

Since H2H is the 1st Tiebreaker...

I am going to go ahead and make Coffeeholic the 6th team from LOTO LEAGUE A to make the 2nd Round based upon his Win Pct. against the other 3 teams that tied. Tough Decision tho, as I had no criteria for 4 tied teams, so I attempted to apply the best and most fair logic based upon existing rules.

This will be the last post by me on this thread and I will open up a new LOTO 06 - ROUND 2 Thread sometime later tonite or tomorrow.

Today is my longest workday of the week(12 hrs) and I have spent most of my freetime moving our stuff to a new location. I will be 53 yrs old on Sept. 3rd and this is my 56th move. Ugh!
