Wow, our tough luck has continued. :(

This team has really tanked. I figured that our 10 million dollar man (Pujols) would do very well in GAP versus Busch, but right now he's sitting at .267 with only 27 HRs. :? Cabrera is just as bad, 281, 17! and Sizemore is downright pathetic .240 and 15 with a .331 OB. our LH platoons have been brutal, much worse than you would expect (Pena .208, Jones, .180 with 3:1 LH to RH ABs) This team is hitting .249 v RHP. :? Hard to believe.

you would think playing in this park and the parks in our division these guys would hit, but it sure hasn't been the case. No way that Alabama, playing in RFK should have as many runs as us, but there it is.

It *has* however affected our SPs, Smoltz in particular. 5.05 ERA? And Maddux (I know he's not great but...) 6.94. Well, there's time for this team to get back to normal, but it's going to take some doing.

Seriously, dude. What is your problem with me? All you do is single out and run down my team  Is it possible that your ratings aren't perfect? The guy you projected to have the second worst team has the best record.

It's only because you're in my division.

There's a lot of luck to SOM. It's a dice game. Over time the ratings pay off. Look at PBTR's record.

You have to admit your team shouldn't score as many runs as mine, especially given the parks we're playing in. Seriously. You're joking about that right? Or, do you really think your team should be outhitting mine by 14 points? Yeah, Helton is better than Pujols, Taveras better than Sizemore. Your combination of Bautista/Spiezio as many HRs as Cabrera. All the while playing in RFK? Really? You'd think that would happen in most cases?

As for Dearborn, take a look at their team yourself and see if you don't think they're over performing. Their D is HORRIBLE yet it hasn't cost him. That's luck. You have to get the X charts when they don't hurt you and, clearly, he has. He has a 3e30 as SS and a 3e19 at 2b and a 3 in CF too. That's horrible. Then, a 4 in LF and a 2e17 at 1b. Brutal D all the way around. And, he's hitting .290 as a team. yeah, Loney is a .348 hitter, Bloomquist is going to, often, hit .305, Hernandez .302, Bruntlett .295, hopper .329 and Kemp .326. Yeah, good luck duplicating that again.

It's a dice game. <shrug> Stuff happens. That's SOM for you.

My team is more balanced at home and on the road than yours. You definitely outscore me at home (5.25 to 4.65 runs per game), but I outscore you on the road (4.93 to 4.45 runs per game). It's a similar situation with batting averages. You hit .270 at home while I hit .268, but I hit .275 on the road while you hit .246.

I don't know about 14 points, but yes, it's not unexpected that my team has a higher batting average given all the guys on my team that hit near or over .300 in real life. I just don't hit for the same power, so I need more hits to score runs.

Dave,

We're not going to agree you think your offense is a great one for your park. I say your park should limit your offense in big ways. Play that team over and over again in that park and you won't put up those kind of numbers very often.

You have several players over performing their numbers and, I have had some guys way under where they should be given the park they're in.

I stick by my ratings. I should score more runs, by a good deal, than you. I think it's a combination of you getting too many and me not getting as many as expected. Maybe it's more the latter than the former.

Well it comes down to the last three games, Beavers vs. Slammers.

I got my butt creamed in this league, just like the only other time I've played Jet in a league, in ATG (also in the same division.) Had a team there I thought should have done better, and was better in the ratings than it performed. Hmmm...

My achilles heel was OBP, as it almost always is in this game especially in 200X with a limited amount. My theory is that since OBP has been priced higher and higher each year, that the "bargains" are more the power guys with the very low OBP. Regardless of park, you can't have too many of those, or you end up like I did.

Thanks for the Strat lesson guys and I'll see you in other leagues. Good luck in the playoffs for those who that applies...

Hi Guys,

thought I would post the "final" ratings. I didn't worry too much about Maui and Manhattan who had made so many moves. It was hard to track down the pitching usage. I think this is close enough.

East
Packwood finally made the run the ratins said they would. Being 6 games under in extras and 1 runners explains part of that. Also, Dearborns D hasn't hurt him nearly as much as would be expected and their offense is somewhat better than expected too. His D just blows. but, when you're +14 in X and 1, you're going to over perform every time. Fielding can be pretty hit and miss. Wyoming pretty much right on the money across the board, but they are clearly winning close games and losing by big margins as their run diff is within the margin of error.

Central
Not as close a race as the ratings would have expected. Ths one looked to go down to the wire. Looks like the biggest difference for SJ is that their divisional record was pretty bad and Title Wave and Albany kicked a**. Manhattan being so bad helped this guys as no one is above .500 out of division.

West

Alabama's offense came back to the norm although still a little high. The Bangers pitching and Offense are both low and that's why they haven't done better. Student was one sided v LHP for much of the season and started playing better once they made a move. ZZ is hurt by their -5 1 run game record. Studen was -12 in X and 1 which also explains a lot about their performance outage.

Interestingly enough, the O and D ratings are pretty close with the exceptions of the Bangers on D and Dearborn and Maui on D.

Still have the WC and the West to decide.

We need one win tonight to get in as does Wyoming

Packwood and Alabama both need sweeps to get in.

Hope you've enjoyed the ratings.
