Well, we're off to a tough start. Hitting only 244.

I was hoping to have enough speed to generate some O, but so far only six steals. Didn't get Figgins or Crawford so that hurt a bit.

Anyone else checking this out? I'll post some ratings later in the season once pitching usage becomes more clear.

A very close race so far in the East. We got a sweep tonight to tighten things up. Meanwhile the Central and the West are runaways so far.

Will they remain so????

I'm going to try and post ratings next week. Teams are stupidly making moves so it makes it tough.

We've struggled out the gate, had a good run and now have lost 5 of 6. I think we'll be there in the end however.

Here are all the ratings together. Comparison versus actual below.

Offense ratings are better higher. Pitching and Fielding better when lower.

Some of the teams that have made tons of moves will be better than the ratings because I took all the teams as of two days ago. For example Washington is now > 7 mil under the cap. Hard to compete doing that.

The Ratings would say that Butte should win the East with Little B competing and the other two causing trouble. November and Toronto battle it out in the West and the Central is putrid and no one will finish above .500.

The ratings are dead on for the Central. All those teams aren't very good and they all are about the same. Should be a close race for the division, but no WC chances.

Toronto isn't performing to the ratings primarily because their rating is skewed becaus they are SO good v LHP. The Knights are overperforming primarily due to their +6 in one run games and 6-2 in xtras. Not sure their pitching is as good as it's been, but they have outstanding D which is the most variable (read luck factor) in the ratings.

In the East, Butte just hasn't been up to snuff versus division opponents. Don't know if it's a match up thing or bad luck. Clearly the pythagorean would say they should be better. The other teams are middle of the pack type teams which can always surprise with a little luck.

Interesting to note that the two best hitting teams are underperforming. Primarily because they are VERY good v LHP and haven’t faced as many as the ratings expect. Washington is a bit over due to their destruction of their team. Most of the rest are pretty close.

Boise is under, probably because fielding is the biggest variable in the equation. I think it’s because of the timing nature of the X-Chart good/bad rolls. November is over, but it’s going to be if it continues to get < 3.00 ERAs from guys like Cueto, Wheeler and Marmol. Only one guy on that staff has struggled, and it’s not *that* good a pitching team. They’ve spent less than any team that hasn’t made a ton of moves. The rest are pretty close and could change somewhat.

In any case, the ratings would project that Butte will come on in the East with the Buzzards (+8 in one runs and 8-3 in xtras) will continue to hang in there unless the odds on close games even out. The other two teams are the types of teams that can get hot and make a run. The ratings aren’t bad, just not top notch.

In the Central it should be close, but Boise and Glendale are, ratings-wise, the best two teams.

I would expect Toronto to get better, but they have big hole to climb out of. November will likely cool off some, but they are a good team. The Knights are overperforming right now, but should contend for the WC. I expect martian to start struggling in a tough division.

Ok, that’s the ratings. What do you guys think?

Thanks. Yeah, it takes a bit of time, but I have it down pretty well now.

Miles, you have a pretty darn good team. The ratings would expect that you'll do well.

Anyone else out there?

Impressive, and very interesting. I had no idea people took it to this level of analysis...but rock on!

Thanks for all the work, and good luck!

Thanks, I hope it's enjoyable.

Just hoping the ratings are right. Usually there's one team that over performs and one under. I'm just hoping I'm not the one that's under! ;)
