Random Madness ATG III League - Chat Thread

Concept is simple - the random number generator will determine what players & park you are able to use. Your team will be comprised of 4 ATG III squads and a ballpark, all chosen randomly.

1 - 100m DH
2 - Frenzy (no waivers needed)
3 - Advanced
4 - Divisions determined by Pick III Lottery (Low to High)

1 - Each Owner, as he/she joins, will post TWO ATG III squads. These 2 squads will be REMOVED from the randomization, and will be INELIGIBLE to be used during the season.

1a - As Commish, I will not make any initial selections, however after the league is full, I will have the right to veto up to 2 teams and re-include them, while excluding 2 others.

2 - Also, each owner, as he/she joins, will post 4 numbers, from between 1 & 48.

2a - As Commish, I will take the last 4 remaining numbers.

3 - Each ATG III team NOT excluded will have a unique # from 1 to 48.

4 - Then a volunteer from outside the league will do a random number sequence. The order in which the numbers are randomized will determine which 4 teams you get.

ex: You have numbers 1-2-3-4. The random numbering put Numbers 34, 36, 42 & 3 1st, 2nd 3rd & 4th. The Teams that correspond to those 4 Numbers are your 4 teams. So if 36 corresponded to BAL '83, you would get BAL '83.

5 - Each owner, as joining, will also vote on whether trading should be allowed. If trading is allowed by Majority vote, then you will be allowed to trade up to 2 players per each of your 4 teams, for a total of 8 players. Thus AT MOST your team could only comprise of 1/3 players who did not originally come from your grouping of 4 randomly selected teams.

6 - AFTER teams are randomly assigned, Ballparks will be randomly drawn. Each Ballpark will also have a number assigned to it. The order in which you JOINED the league will be the number you get for the ballpark sorting. So if you join 5th, and Number 60 (there are 70 ballparks) is the number that is sorted 5th, you would get the ballpark corresponding to 60.

7 - AFTER ballparks are randomly assigned, we will hold the lottery draft that will determine divisional assignments.

Interestingly enough the '59 Cubs was a team I had been considering to add to the removed list. As it is, I only made one change, and that was to replace the '86 Mets with the '79 Pirates.

So, since I have numbers 1, 15, 32 & 48, does that mean I own Bal 66, Was 24, PhilA 11 & Cle 54?

No - that was just the numbers given to each team ... we won't know what teams go to which owners until a volunteer randomly orders the numbers. Think of your # as a draft pick. Then once the team number are randomized, the number that comes up 15th in the order will be the team that you get (and so forth).
