2009 Player Set

$60 million, DH, Standard weighted waivers, 5%/10%/20% FA drop penalty, Advanced skill level.

Teams must get themselves under $60 million cap even if SOM draft engine gives them replacements that put them over the limit.

Four round snake draft: Three players and a unique stadium. Stadium can be chosen in any round.

After everybody is on board with the first round, you will have a three-hour window between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Eastern to make your pick. Clock is off on weekends, but continuing to move the draft forward is highly encouraged. PM'ing proxy choices is also highly encouraged.

Optional team name theme: Something to do with James Cameron movies.

I"m currently stuggling to fill a roster in a 12 team @ 80 mil league.
Now a 24 team @ 60 mil. What have I gotten myself into ?

Have all, or any of you guys been through a 24 team @ 60 mil season ?

This should be an interesting learning experience. With selections @ 1, 48, 49, & 96 it looks like I'm looking at a neutral ballpark.

The only saving grace of the 24th pick in a 24 team draft is that the salary cap will ensure that there are "some players" left over for me.

Lincecum is a big hit to the cap. I may go with the theory of "1 stud and 7 duds" or, as I have read in a previous thread "Lincecum and the 7 dwarfs".

All I want is to create a competitive team, and not get too embarrassed. Although from the chat back-and-forth I've seen so far, it doesn't matter how well your team does, there's plenty of opportunity for embarrassment in this league.

Now, the important thing is to pick a good name :)

I've electronically notified the other brother Siebert, Tom, that the draft is going. He is at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin this weekend, but he's posting stuff on Facebook, so I think he's staying connected.

Going out for a bit myself. I sent a PM with my proxy to Schnoogens (next in draft order).

When you decide who you want, Mark, send me a message (PM or e-mail) if Tom hasn't picked yet.
