Leonard Pope Phillies League

This league will be a combo of ideas from Ducapa's Phillies theme and the Leonard Pope League. It will be an ongoing league, though not a keeper league. It would be nice to keep same owners for each season but not necessary, if you only want to commit to one season (one credit) that's ok.

League will use a different theme every season, first theme will be Ducapa's Phillies/2 franchise, second season will be Blackjack's tiered players season, third and ongoing seasons themes will be proposed and determined by all owners.

Rules for first season:
12 teams
120 M cap, 10% drop penalty, will use 140M option, but actual cap=120M

Stadium from 2 drafted franchises, or any player drafted in 4 round draft. First to draft a Phillie only team that can select Citizens Bank Park.


Basic theme is each owner must have at least one Phillie on roster, and will draft two franchises (not Philadelphia) allowing them to have permanent ownership of those two franchise's players, excepting trades. Owners must have at least 9 players [b:18966410ef]total (not each)[/b:18966410ef] from their two drafted franchises on their active roster, trades/drops are ok as long as total is at least 9.

After the franchise draft a four round live draft (diamondope or chat thread) will be held, owners will take [b:18966410ef]1 or 2 Phillies [/b:18966410ef]players and any player from the five non-drafted franchises. After the draft a scheduled [b:18966410ef]frenzy[/b:18966410ef] will be conducted, all undrafted players from the five undrafted franchises and undrafted Phillies will be free agents eligible to be picked up by any owner. Owners will select their stadium from one of their drafted franchises or one of their drafted players.

Drafts: Franchise Draft: 2 rounds, randomizer determines order,
serpentine

Phillie/Free Agent Players Draft: 4 rounds, order will be
reverse of W-L records of 2 drafted teams
ex.- TEX-SF owner would pick after Pitt-KC
owner, serpentine, owners will select 1 or 2 Phillies (in any round), plus any players from the five undrafted franchises, trading draft picks for other picks or players is allowed

Phillies- at least 1, max unlimited
2 Drafted Franchises-at least 9 total (example- 5 from SF, 4 from KC), max unlimited
Undrafted Franchises- up to 18

If you drop a franchise player or drafted free agent they will remain yours exclusively (you are sending them to the minors, not releasing them). Traded franchise players will also be eligible to be dropped/sent to minors by their new owner. Phillies and undrafted franchise players rules will be standard SOMO rules, remember to keep at least one Phillie on roster.

Guess Tim is shooting for the 1st pick in the FA Draft........darn, thought id be home before I had to pick. Divisions look good. I too will be off from the 30th through the 5th so id like to have no clock for the long holiday weekend bc even if I check in once in while, no time to really look at players cards from my phone. I just logged on now ffrom my phone at work so will pick in a bit.[/u]

I like the divisions as well. And I have no issue with no time limit on picks. I will be making my picks promptly as I am on the internet all day at work, but we want everybody to be happy with their team and not to feel rushed.

He also labeled the Subject as 'Leonard Pope Tier League' - which was the original idea for the league prior to it merging with the Phillie 2 team league. The tier league is the next league that blackjack57 was doing and is noted in the rules - this is the 2 team franchise Phillie league. So Tim either likes the Pirates, or the idea of pick #1 in the FA draft, or is thinking this is the tier league where he picks from the bottom teams.
