20 Days Since the 2007 Player Set Was Ready...

Postby Al Hogg » Sun Mar 23, 2008 7:14 am

and I'm still waiting to make my 1st pick.

And to think I was worried that my vacation the week before last would hold things up!

I have, at any rate, sent a Private Message to Curt (moneymaze) with my Round 1 proxy on the off chance that Turtle and Mark (Kramed) pick today and Curt gets around to looking at the board before I do.

If Turtle or Mark weasel my choice before me, then I'll have to look things over.

Cruisin' for a decision

Postby TomSiebert » Sun Mar 23, 2008 7:06 pm

What does the league want to do while I am at sea from Thursday morning until Monday evening?

It turns out they actually have internet access on the ship, but I"m not going to be on it very often. Thoughts?

I'm happy to start the clock Monday at 10 am, with four hour window to start.

tws, let's see where we stand wednesday night....we can't start the clock until the first round is complete, which unfortunetly looks like it won't happen until sometime monday. I'd say just -proxy up as best you can before you ship out....and I'd vote the clock is off for you from thursday to monday, and if you get on line at some point, update us. officially the clock is off on weekends anyway, although its always nice to get a scattering of pix on the weekend. we should shoot for having the draft by friday april 4th at the latest, so that opening day is on april 7th.

I told my bro Mark the draft had started and he said he would check in after all their houseguests left on Easter evening, but I'm not sure he knows we're drafting here, not on the old draft site. I'll zap him with an email later this morning.

If You Want a Good Catcher...

Postby Al Hogg » Mon Mar 24, 2008 8:55 am

...better move fast.

Every other position has at least 12 reasonable options at $4 million or higher. At catcher, there are only four players over $4 million (I'm not counting Phelps), and I just took Posada.

Posada

Postby TomSiebert » Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:14 am

I was really, Really, REALLY hoping Posada was going to make it to the turn; I couldn't believe he lasted as long as he did.

Ordonez was also an amazing lingering presence. I'm still feeling OK about my two picks, but it won't surprise me if Curt picks one of them...
