We had selector sets from 70, 71, 72 and a variety of other years. I had the full set for about 1 year out of every 6 for the next 25 years. Roberto Clemente (71?) was a cool card. Steve Carlton (71 or 72) was amazing, when he won almost 1/2 of the total team wins for that year (27 wins, the team won about 60).

My brother and I will try the computer game, but I have a hunch that I will agree with you that there is nothing to match the game with the cards laid out in front of you, and the fun of rolling the dice on each play or strategy. Still, if we can make the game work long distance using the computer, that would be great.

I'm certainly not saying I don't like this game - it's a lot of fun competing against a range of players all trying different strategies - and you get to see a whole season played out which was VERY time consuming on the board game (which is why a 30 game season was the longest ever!!). I would like to see this game have a head to head option for the world series where you got to play out each AB.

Couple of injuries right off the bat - lets see if HAL uses the correct defensive replacements. ;)

Being shutout at home for consecutive games is never a good thing. :(

Shut outs at home

I think that my goldeyes will have a large number of low scoring games won or lost by one run. I am sure I will be on the losing end many times this season.

I love baseball partly because it IS a long season. It is definitely a marathon. I love to watch teams make a sustained winning run at the end of the season, like the Phillies did in 2007.

So, I am looking forward to this (long) season, and to the next time we meet, Arryit. I am ready to face your vengeance! Bring it on! Till next time! (There should be an emoticon for a Viking!

Hi Mel. I'm glad you're happy with Larry Walker. He had been a good Lefty for me, but he's not quite as appealling to me as before. : ) I wish I had him on my Goodguys VI team.

Larry Walker .... I'm Confused

Postby Rojo's Redlegs » Fri Jul 25, 2008 10:40 pm

Well Mel, this IS my Goodguys VI league. I seem to be confused. LOL ! Maybe I have too many teams (3) going at once, or I shouldn't have had that third beer. Jeff.
