70's Small Market League Forum

[quote:c1dc33dd6a="Yellow_Dog"]I love decade leagues. Just for reference, this one differs from the others I've been in that it's based on MLB service years, not on SOM carded years, and is 60 Million cap. I like both of these twists.

A couple of ideas/questions:
*Having enough catchers could be a problem. One solution is that all .75 catchers (or all players) are eligible for any year even if they didn't play that year.[/quote:c1dc33dd6a]

Back to your question Yellow, here is a quick check of catchers for 1970:

Bateman, Bench, Boccabella, Casanova, Dempsey, Dietz, Duncan, Dyer, Edwards, Ellis, Etchebarren, Ferguson, Fosse, Freehan, Grote, Haller, Hendricks, Herrmann, Hundley, Josephson, Kendall, Kirkpatrick, B. Martinez, J. May, M. May, McCarver, Mitterwald, Moses, Munson, Oates, E. Rodriguez, Roof, Sanguillen, Simmons, Sims, Stinson, Tenace, and E. Williams.

That's 38 catchers in a league that needs 24. Not a lot of extra to go around, but some.

BTW, if anyone would like a copy of the spreadsheet that has all pitchers and position players by years played, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it.

Thanks, Paul

Is $60mm too restrictive for this format? I would go to $80.

Also, how would the year over year draft work? for example, i keep 12 players, you keep 5. Do u get to draft 7 players before i get to draft any?

Sign-ups are in the 70's forum. I've held spots for all current managers while soliciting alternates. We might be able to get this thing going as soon as Labor Day.
