Minimum question

Postby JMP1 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:48 pm

This is my first auction draft so I have a lot to learn so get ready for a lot of really basic questions....

If understand the rules correctly, the minimum a player can go for is 10% of salary.

Does that mean a player that has a salary of $500,000 can go for 50,000?

I am assuming that is correct, but i have also learned never to assume!

The minimum is 10% *or* 500k, whichever is greater, so no, a player cannot be had for 50k.

[quote:90ed6a5873]In the 2008 league we don't have a site, but we have a thread for players chosen that includes the money spent. I know several participants, including myself, keep our own spreadsheets to follow. Chances are if you make a mistake, someone will alert you soon enough, but still, do your best to keep track of your own bidding.[/quote:90ed6a5873]

From my experience in the other league, I think it would be better if we have a thread for players chosen by owner, and one for players chosen by position, And I think it may be easier for one person to do each of these rather than everyone. That way they can just keep editing one post rather than making a new one every time. I am willing to keep track of the players chose by owner, and update every couple of days. I will wait til at least 10 players are chosen and then begin.

Would someone else be willing to list the players by position?

Clock

Postby JMP1 » Wed Nov 25, 2009 10:16 am

Was there a time that the "clock started"? or if someon has a high bid for 24 hours now they win the player?

You guys are getting to rich for me on the current group on the board, so I am hoping to have new players to bid on soon.

BTW, there should have been a warning on the original board post...

I believe that the clock has now started and from now on, anyone who goes un-bid on for 24 hrs is claimed/signed to the last/highest bidder.

1st player signed?

No one has bid on Sosa in the last 24 hours as of 1:30pm.

Do we wait until everyone had 24 hours to bid or since everyone had a chance within the last 24 hours does he go to the high bidder now?

The last check-in happened at 36 minutes after midnight last night (today, so my interpretation is that Sosa or anyone else not bid on today would be owned as of 12:36 tonight.

WHAT??

Postby CATom » Wed Nov 25, 2009 2:47 pm

I just claimed Sosa --- what is this 24 hour/12:15am stuff?? Anyway - I think if everyone had seen the board and the bids it's over :) Sosa is mine and Helton is NOW on the block!! Of course, if the commish doesn't think this is right --- then,

Tom.
