PICK 6 Franchise league possible changes

Postby bontomn » Thu Nov 04, 2010 9:44 pm

Just discovered there is one major problem with franchise leagues in ATG 6--YOU CAN'T SORT PLAYERS BY TEAMS!! I'm in too many of these leagues to scroll through position-by-position searching for someone who has a card from my team, and then redoing it a million times trying to weasel under the salary cap later. I strongly urge that we stick with ATG 5 until Bernie works out a way to sort ATG 6 by teams before switching.

how i read that was that YOU are in too many franchise leagues for this one to make the change to ATG 6 because some of your other franchise leagues have and one more is just too many. is that right? i am not trying to sound like a d*ck. i am just trying to clarify. because if that is the case i do not think it is fair for the other managers in this league to not switch. i went through all the cards myself today and it only took me about 30-45 minutes.

the new players can be located on this spreadsheet as well.

I'm okay with a redraft. The concern I have is the switch to ATG VI and the rejiggering of potential team groupings. I finally worked my way to the top of the draft list, to get the Yankees / Mets and now I won't have the Mets (I agree that a NYY/NYM combo is a potential juggernaut). The point is, we've already changed the playing field by switching to ATG VI in mid-play, by rejiggering the teams as well, we're losing some value of having the top draft picks. I'll continue to participate in the league whatever is decided, because it's a great theme. I just think it's a more level playing field if we either stay with ATG V, or start all over in ATG VI.

REALLY ??

Don't think we need to start over - I think that, much as we did with the switch from 4 to 5 we just keep the exact same franchises AS LISTED in the beginning - THE ONE thing I think we might tweak is the NEL team can have any relief pitcher from unclaimed teams NOT JUST under 2mil (or what ever stipulation we have). The NYY/NYM team has ALWAYS been a juggernaut (I know they have made the playoffs every year and would NOT be surprised if they have made the finals every year) - so WHY change that now?? My objective going into picks 2/3/4 is to try and put together (MUCH LIKE REAL BASEBALL) a team that can unseat the mighty boys fron NEW YOTK! Don't care what we decide, just putting my 2 cents in.

Tom

If anything the EXP team and "YES" MY Giants may be MORE competitive now with the mighty YANKEES because of the new players!!

So where do we stand at the moment? Is everyone still on board, including Petrosian? Are we definitely re-drafting? I voted YES, but am fine with anything decided. I actually had already created a CHCubs ATG 6 team yesterday, so if we redraft and I don't end up with the Cubs, I will have to have my team name changed. NBD. Who knows, even with a re-draft, I might end up with the Cubs again. Just anxious to get the ball rolling, whatever we are doing. :)

let's get a vote going majority rules.

Redraft?

sdajr76 - yes
modmark47 - yes
errormagnate - yes
Frank M - yes
CATom - no
bontomn - yes
JCHensen - yes

6 yes
1 no

the restructuring of the EXP team(s) including the removal of the NYM from the NYY will be happening. We already agreed that we were moving to ATG 6. the only thing in question now is the redraft. Regardless of the redraft results Petrosian will be allowed to redraft due to the division of the EXP teams into 2 groups.

you only need one more vote for a majority to re-draft, so 1) if I have used the EXP team and the NYY/NYM will I be able to draft the EXP group 2 squad? How about the Yankees BY THEMSELFS? Prob. shouldn't be able to re-draft the group 1 cause I've already had all the teams in IT. Just wondering what the drafting rules are going to be,

Tom.

if you have already used NYY/NYM you may not use the NYY franchise again. If you have used the EXP franchise you may draft one of the EXP groups. The NYY/NYM franchises were a high priority draft team (picks 1-3) were as the EXP franchise was selected as a low priority draft team (picks 9-12).

sound fair?
