ANDY'S 1926-1946 Franchise League

Postby andycummings65 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 11:02 am

Doug,

First Issue: the player must have a card from 1926-1946 to even be eligible for the League. Neither Heilmann or Cobb are eligible, since their cards are all 1925 or before

For this league, the best way to think of it is that this is an alternate reality where [b:2ccd32f874]ONLY WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN 1926-1946 EXISTS[/b:2ccd32f874]. Only players who [b:2ccd32f874]have a card [/b:2ccd32f874]from 1926-1946 are eligible, plus the assigned NeLs. [b:2ccd32f874]ONLY THOSE PLAYER/TEAM ASSOCIATIONS WHICH OCCURRED FROM 1926-1946 ARE ELIGIBLE AS WELL[/b:2ccd32f874].

EX....Babe Ruth...only his 1927 card is eligible.....BAbe is assigned to Murderer's Row......if M Row doesnt take him, the Bronx Bombers could grab him or the Boston franchise could grab him. The reason the Boston franchise can grab him is his 1935 association with The BRAVES.......since we only take 1926-1946 occurences fro this league, Babe's association with the Red Sox NEVER OCCURRED

Jamesgang I beleive per the rules Heilmann's 1925 card is ineliglbe since your teams must consist of 1926-1946. i have the same problem with Speaker although he played in 1926 his card's pre date 1926 so I can't use him

right, Cobb and Heilmann played but didnt have CARD, so they arent eligible..........

REMEMBER EVERYONE, ONLY CARDS AND PLAYER/TEAM ASSOCAITIONS FROM 1926-1946 ARE ELIGIBLE IN THIS LEAGUE..

New guys, keep asking questions until you get more acclimated to the setup, the old guys like bontomn, warrenbob, Steve, dharmabums, majicmg, papasturgeon, and myself have been doing this for 16 seasons in the 1888-1925 League, so we are a little more accustomed to it right now (though we still make mistakes sometimes too!). :D

One more Q? If Earl Averill isn't used by the Indians then he's up for grabs as a FA for my team the Tigers. So based on the Babe Ruth example earlier if Averill is available as a FA i could use his Indians card right?

That is right. However, I believe Averill is assigned to the Indians, so you could only grab him after the Autodraft if the Cleveland Manager chooses not to use him...............and with the limited player pool, I doubt that will happen........but you can sure wish for it :D
