Then I'm gonna whine. Wainwright really hurt.

Whine x 2 = Satisfaction!

Postby TomSiebert » Sat Jun 13, 2009 7:53 am

Happy to double the misery with Wainright after getting weaseled myself a few times. Also feeling pleased with the Fielder deal, which basically got me two 5th round picks in exchange for my 8th rounder. Not really sure what kind of team I'm building here, with now THREE guys who've got W-power vs RH pitching, yet my biggest slugger pounds them....may yet be building platoons I'd not strategized earlier....thinking maybe that would drive me to a pitchers park, I was contemplating YPetit, but Uptown snapped him. I had Wainright in front of him anyway....

Meanwhile, the tourney does not go well. Al advised against using Comerica as my homefield, and my curent 6-12 record reflects a 1-8 record at home....could be a loooooong season....

And both of the whiners are in your division.

I have an odd team. Nobody with more than 25 home runs last year among my seven position players, but six of the seven had between 22 and 25. The exception is Dukes, who was an oft-injured part-timer but might have more home run potential than the others -- provided he plays. Not bad defensively (four 2s, two 3s and a 4).

Some of the things I was supposed to be doing this morning aren't happening (he said, gritting his teeth that the three hours he spent putting together the PowerPoint presentation would have been better spent sleeping), so my unavailable time will only be between 11 and 12:30.

My hair-raising (feather-raising?) game of chicken w/ Calbatross over the last genuinely viable SS, double play hitting machine Miguel Tejada, ends poorly, with me waiting a round too long on the now mediocre one time MVP, who can at least play the field well and has 600+ PA. He was my next pick, but couldn't really see putting him in front of Wainright, who I clearly would have lost instead.

I'll probably be offline until late this evening.

I've left proxies. Not enough to guarantee getting me through the next round, but I would be amazed if I am the one to hold things up.

Pick is over to Mark. I'm back online, so we can go back up the ladder pretty quickly.

I'm back as well. There was no cell coverage if anyone attempted to contact me. Son had a blast at his first Cub Scout/Boy Scout campout. I may regret saying I would be the Cub Master. I have to say that I like my team just not my outfield. SGT D

Pick is back up to Cal (calbatross, not calliaume).

No way I could be a Scoutmaster -- I've hated camping ever since I was in the Scouts myself (which was all our troop ever did).

Hey, can somebody give me admin rights or start weeding out the stadiums? I don't think I can positively ID 100% of NL parks with all the corporate IDs, etc.
