MLB 2006 Opening Day SOM League

Well, finally was starting to get some rythm going...and I loose gaffe-anino for 15  Mr. Alex "Boom Boom" Cora better step up now...paying him the big bucks for this.

Well, since this particular league has a link to MLB, I'll have to admit I am very frustrated by my local team (The Angels) but at least my baby Brewskies are holding their own 8)

It's pretty tight all around... is it always like this AT? Only Mo's is a bit behind but as it stands right now any team that puts together a little win streak might pull away..FUN 8)

Cummings,

Yeah most of the private leagues I have been in tend to be like this. There is always going to be an owner whose team has really bad luck, like MoCrash's ... but for the most part no 1 owner dominates.

With 9 days and 27 games to go, it looks as though all 3 divisions are still up for grabs and the Wild Card battle should be quite heated!

Looks like the Hardballer's are hitting their stride. I like my league leading positive run differential....oh BTW Frank's Yankees suck.

Get a life. I am only 1 game back. When I broom your butt under the table next time we meet I am back in first.

With 9 games left it looks as though the East & West divisions are still up for grabs, and there are probably 4 teams in the running for the Wild Card.

ggapp will likely clinch tonight if he can win 2 of 3.

Although my team is most likely out of the Wild Card race, and is definitely out of the Central battle, I am not too disappointed, at least in comparison with my last 2 "MLB Opening Day" Leagues, in which I won 74 & 67 games respectively. Besides I might have an SP with 20 wins if I am lucky.

With a little luck I can finish with 80+ wins. :)

No team is likely to finish with more than 90-92 wins, and if bigmahon can win 5 of the last 9, only MoCrash will lose more than 90. Unfortunately for MoCrash it looks as though he is destined to lose 100.

A little disappointed at how quiet everyone has been - especially considering how tight the playoff race is!

3 teams within 1 game for the East Title. 4 teams fighting for the Wild Card (5 if you include the team leading the East). Basically 2 spots open, with 5 teams having a shot and all within a game of one another.

Congratulations to ggapp & Warrior on winning their respective divisions.

As mentioned a couple days ago no team will win more than 92 games, and that only if ggapp sweeps tonight. It is conceivable, if ggapp gets sweep and Warrior loses 1 game, that no team will have 90 wins going into the playoffs. That is pretty amazing considering MoCrashs team did a KC Royals impression.

Not to rub salt in the wound, as it is definitely not MoCrashs fault - but I do not think I've ever seen a team lose 56 games at home before. :o

Even us non-playoff squads have some pride to fight for - we can spoil some teams playoff dreams with a strong performance tonight. bigmahons squad can avoid 90 losses (which oddly enough is the goal of all my teams - avoid 90 losses LOL) with 2 wins, and I can reach 80 wins with 2 wins. Both our squads play teams with WC chances.

Good luck to all teams tonight & thanks for participating in the 4th annual MLB Opening Day SOM League!
