even though u will have 10 of them by round 3 haha[/quote:2d5cacc505]
Yes, which is why it's important for you guys to check your rosters whne I send them out, because they are what I use to determine the list and if there are mistakes it MIGHT screw up the available list.
Also keep in mind, [b:2d5cacc505]ALL[/b:2d5cacc505] players who have played in MLB last year will be available whether or not they have a TSN card. So if you draft a guy, you own him whether he gets a card or not. It's [b:2d5cacc505]YOUR[/b:2d5cacc505] gamble if he's a bubble guy.[/quote:2d5cacc505]
Niners, please clarify "bubble guy" and why it would be a gamble. [color=red:2d5cacc505]if we are drafting after the TSN/SOM cards are released, won't we know whether or not that player has a card? [/color:2d5cacc505]
sorry for the novice question, but thanks for your help.[/quote:2d5cacc505]
I hadn't thought of that to be honest with you, I'm so used to drafting once the ratings book is out for every other keeper league I'm in that, I plain forgot that by waiting for the cards to be released we'll know who has a card and who won't.
But let me give you an example, some managers may want to grab a guy just because of his potential even though he won't have a card.
For example, lets say that I, nor anyone else, had drafted Matt Gamel as a prospect last year. He had 2 ab's in the majors last year so he won't get a card, BUT he would still be eligible for our draft if I hadn't already him drafted as a prospect. And I already know of one manager in our league who covets him, so if he wasn't on my roster I'm sure he'd get picked even though he doesn't have a card.
There are other guys out there that will fall into a similar situation, I don't want to use names, because I don't want to tip my hand or do research for some of you ( I think I do enough for this league already, frankly  ) .
All I want to make clear, is I don't want someone stating after the draft is over, that they drafted someone thinking they'd be able to use him and now want to drop him because he doesn't have a card.
This may effect players already on rosters too, Rafeal Furcal comes to mind. His numbers were so good, that despite the injuries he had, he might not get a card. But if he's not dropped when drops are due, there's no going back.
I hope I haven't confused things even more.
As always if I have, and you have more questions, feel free to keep 'em coming. :D
