Rob, the LongHaulers have entered the B league.

I don't think I've ever shared my bio on the forums before, but I enjoyed reading about each of you so much I thought I'd pass along my personal stats as well.

I've been playing Strat (the board game) since 1969 and it's because of SOM that I'm a devoted Detroit Tigers fan. I'm the son of a Navy man, and we were living in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba when I received my first set of SOM cards, the 1968 set. I could only afford eight teams, but of course one of those teams was the Tigers. Since it was my game I got to pick the Tigers in every league against the other neighborhood kids. Won the first eight games I played and have been hooked ever since. I've played the TSN 200x game since it's inception, but the most teams I've ever played in a season is 13 (2003 season, and I still have a credit for this season!). Used to write articles about the TSN and SOM computer game for somworld.com which are probably still in their archive somewhere, and even developed a set of Negro League cards for personal use.

On the personal front, I am also a Navy man like my father. I was 39 years old before I lived in one place longer than 3 years, although if pressed I generally say I'm from Virginia Beach, VA since my Mom and two brothers have lived there for many years now. I turned 50 last month, and have spent 6 of the last 11 years in San Diego, where we live now. I'm married with no children (unless you count a house full of cats and one very accomodating canine). My wife did play one season of TSN and loves baseball, and we catch Padres games whenever we can. She also caught the running bug about five years ago, and occassionally I will try to keep up with her (when I'm not on the computer playing World of Warcraft).

I jes can't figger out a team! :?

No matter what I seem to do with this card set, I seem to be stuck with .500% teams? Gotta find a way to break this cycle!

Correct, I won't keep the league waiting if he puts in his team by Tuesday. Thursday waivers won't be nice to me, but it's a compromise. A Friday or Saturday one not so kind, so if its a must that it begins on those two days, I prefer you folks find a replacement. Believe me, I'm not looking for special treatment, and do not wish to hold 11 guys up for ransom.

I went with a pretty radical draft this time around. Just wanted to shake my thinking up as I already seem to use many of the same players in just the few teams I have. 21 of the 25 players on my draft card I've never used before. No telling how it will turn out, but it will be interesting whether it flies or is a train wreck!

Looks like the two missing are the number one seed Erromagnate and Ineluki.

League C, just two to go for a draft tonight!

That's right CATom, the mighty Ipswich Clams joined the West earlier and are ready to walk our way through the league--

"Clams have Feet!"

This may be the least likely successful draft I have ever prepared, so I stand in awe of those who succeed in this one!

Thanks Robvoz for this chance at humiliation! 8)

[quote:5e946d4601="Jeepdriver"]I've been married for 23 years, but my wife and I didn't have any kids. I'm not sure how yall do it sometimes. My cat jumps up in front of my computer monitor (rendering me seeing anything useless) looking for attention and I get stressed out over [i:5e946d4601]that[/i:5e946d4601]! What would I have done with kids? [/quote:5e946d4601]

I hear you Jeep!

Gonna see you in NYC in July if Anthony Pisano gets things together?

What 2 teams are still left for the "D" league. Any news when we might kick this thing off?
