I would keep the clock on. Then the next time someone is over 3 hrs lets see if we can skip them.
I went to the picks section which should have refreshed the page ... but you never know.
Even if you can't skip someone this site is better then doing the boards for picks. It would be nice if they could make it go longer then 29 rounds and have unlimited cap.

Proxies - Diamonddope Draft/Clock

Postby timklucinec » Fri Mar 19, 2010 6:44 pm

Guys,
The system is working. JMP 1 pick came in at 17:38 and he picked RF Ichiro Suzuki, Next pick is at 20:00 CT after 3 hours expires.

I'll bet the Central Time was part of the confusion. The old board was on EST.

Proxies - Diamonddope Draft/Clock

I think we could speed up the draft by shortening the clock to 1 or 2 hours and everyone have their proxies loaded. Thoughts???

hk mossey holds the conch1

Postby Cubit » Fri Mar 19, 2010 8:18 pm

Since he's on the corner he's got the initiative. Hope everything is OK with him since clearly he's not filled out his proxy list.

I find the proxy system here gives us each tremendous flexibility for all kinds of situations and we really should never be hung up at this stage-- maybe in that last few rounds when we're trying to find that missed utility man with a weird platoon card or that sleeper R1, but here, we've all got plenty of stars to choose from.

Sounds good to me here, though I am quite sheepishly forced to admit and ascknowledge what many of you all know, that I have in the past often been guilty of unannounced absences from drafts caused by sudden changes in schedule or weird international travel "effects". I've tried to mend my ways and I certainly am not admonishing anyone, only endorsing the idea of simply filling out a proxy order sheet of at least two rounds length and left "ON" as the foundational courtesy in this draft.

btw, since hk mossey has the corner slot, the engine is likely to give his next pick the full time as well if he misses the first one.

I stand corrected. Mossy Picked Miguel Cabrera and Andy McCutchen. JMP is up.

Guys,

Sorry for being slow, but I have an 8 day old newborn and it was his bris today. Combine that with having to run out in a hurry to watch the MSU Spartan game, I did not have a chance to fully load my proxies.
