I will revise my theme tonight to make it a kinder gentler theme(unless I get enamored with a different even more diabolical theme)

I wanna change my theme.

You can only draft pitchers tht begin with a X, y, or Z.

You can only draft infielders with no vowels in their wife's maiden name.

You have to draft 4 catchers that can play the outfield or coach third base.

LMAO

In a two minute period, two of us offered to make our themes less restrictive :P This is going to be too easy

yet another rule conflict to this indecipherable murder/suicide pact. doctax wants us to have a mandatory FIVE hitters the opposite of our stadium. no platoons, no switch hitters. bigm insists we have FOUR platoons, and says they can't be our .50 player. as marilyn monroe tried to say before she wisely committed suicide in order to miss torture like this...Something's Gotta Give!!!!  :!:

and oh by the way...make sure they're from different decades...although you do have the option of looking up the actual birthday of all these dead guys and go that route. so in this mismatch of .50 players, half platoon, half wrong sided hitters and pitchers, let's say you get gehrig or ol pete to try and head this thing all by himself. you'll have him for 38 games, then have to turn him in, actually both of them, not to be touched for the rest of the season, and oh by the way, select a replacement from the same decade or that has the same astrological sign. then ofcourse, there's the pavano rule, so we'll stick you with two more extremely undesireable players, that don't fit anything you're doing, but there's two more rosters spots you have absolutely no say so in. not to mention on draft day, you've got to keep track of where you rank in the 12 and how much that allows you to spend in the early rounds.
GUYS...we've got TWELVE people in this league. Several of these could be entire theme leagues in their own right. In the interest of being extremely clever and outdoing the next guy, I think we've made this so untenable, and so hard for anyone to keep track of who's in compliance and who's not that it JUST WON'T WORK. can some of you PLEASE simplify some of these multi-layered rules and restrictions so we have some hope of figuring it out. personally, I don't think in a league with TWELVE themes, any of them should be allowed to be multi-layered.
gang?

If things are truly unworkable, I have no problem changing my theme, if it will make things easier. Will wait on a consensus of opinions and/or a ruling by the commish. It's fun to have unusual/odd themes, but after all, they have to allow us to play the game. :)

i feel the same as modmark...if people really think my theme is tough, i will change mine. although, i think my theme is probably the in the top 3 easiest to adhere to.

spicki I don't think yours is a problem at all, and in fact will be a great relief being done halfway thru the draft. modmark not much conflict either. here's the ones I think we need to modify a bit to have compatibility, and any hope of compliance. doc tax's requirement that half your lineup has to hit from the opposite side, with NO platoons, NO switch-hitters, and a later rule requiring atleast four platoons by bigm, and then having to sit one of those regulars that's not in the platoons.
beyond that, I would suggest again mrbbw's decade or astrological requirement should go through the first catch and release, and abate after that. unc's sick enough having us drop our highest priced pitcher AND hitter THREE times, having to replace them in the same decade is inhumane. the four platoons vs. five of your hitters being opposite of your park cannot co-exist, especially when modmark's got one of your up the middle defenders being a .50, and a likely platoon. I think compound shifts are asking a bit much.
