GBBR II - GET CUMMINGS 2 !!!

Postby Stoney18 » Tue Jan 09, 2007 10:34 pm

Looks like I won't get Pedro or Wright. Probably not Giles either.

Looks like the only time I'll be first this year is on the waiver list.

I know I am doomed already in this league. I had :

1) AROD
2)Carpenter
3)Heilman
4) Papi
5)Santana or Peavy I'm not quite sure

G/L everyone!

Not one of my better drafts...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Wed Jan 10, 2007 1:57 am

And only the 6th waiver pick. Think I'll keep Cabrera - even tho I didn't take him - Esp. with my Division. This is the very 1st time i did not get a Pitcher I have taken in every single draft this year. I suppose Edge is getting me back for taking Floyd in that last league.

It's Mike Hampton. I never seem to have to pick him very high either. Oh well. At least I'll get to play some players I haven't ever had this year. R

Stoney I've noticed in the what seems like 200 leagues together we are fond of many of the same players. Sorry about that, most of my offense (exception Pedro and Jones) were all up high, and since I got 12 of 14 offensive players I'm next-to-last in waiver placement. Again, sorry.

As for pitching, however, I got only 5 I think it was on my card so I got a little work to do there.

Funny, I had Giambi almost dead last. Figured no one would have him on their card and I was right.

I believe I'll go take a look and see who won on the Papi sweepstakes.

That would be me... And that's about the only bit of good news I got. Despite getting Papi AND Abreu (the forgotten other guy in my top 5), I whiffed on almost every other guy I had, as evidenced by my #2 waiver pick. Scoring your first round pick and getting that high in a weighted waivers has to be some kind of dubious achievement. Big swing and a miss on pretty much everything else. I did end up with some okay consolations, but it's ugly.

Lee, I'm in the same boat. Got D Lee but not much else.

Yep, and frankly, the boat is more like a 'life raft'. While the rest of the owners are enjoying their luxury digs on the SS GBBR, we're adrift in a sea of mediocre free agents.

I think I'll end the sea-going metaphors now. Just suffice it to say I'm sending the SOS....

At a glance...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Wed Jan 10, 2007 1:37 pm

It doesn't appear that very many players had good drafts. Jeep, Kav and Edge's teams look solid right off. Certainly didn't expect to see Griffey on Kav's team. I could use a big LH bat against both sides like his. Took Bay and got Cabrera - Not a bad consolation prize for 2M less, but no LF. May just hav to go with ole reliable Ibanez - who generally plays very well for me at PNC. GL with your Waiver Pix everyone. Looks like another tough league to figure out. R
