I knew you were feeling terribly lonely in the basement AT and you being my pal, I had to do something to help and I knew that Cummings (Being the good guy he is) wouldn't mind being swept to help out another Strat guy in need. LOL!

WOW! Cummings wasn't kidding when he said it was time to pull the trigger! Rob decided to rework his team some as well as a result of the trade. Looks like things are gonna get mighty interesting in the East.

Robs trade basically became Bonds for K. Robinson ... :o

Seriously though, I did that once (that I recall) ... traded for a player and then immediately released him for someone else ... finished at 72-90. Hopefully Rob will have better results - but I'm not sure going from Bonds to Beltran will make a positive impact. :?: :?

What's worse is that he'll still have Bonds in his division. As a rule I almost never trade to a team in the same division or a potential play-off rival. Interesting to see how it all pans out.

Bonds is a tricky commodity. Personally, I believe he is [b:98942826e7]underpriced[/b:98942826e7], even at $16mil. But he leaves a team with almost no margin for error at the other positions. If you don't get top value guys to support him, then he becomes an albatross. More than once I've had a team markedly improved after dropping or trading Bonds.

My D was always suspect...

And I wanted to try something else to stop the bleeding...I have not been losing games - I have been getting blown out - at home. Everyone is smart enuf to pitch cheapo lefties and it was working at Shea. I really think the best way to use Barry is in a pitcher's park or RH power park where all the Natural HRs become maximized or you see a lot of RH pitching. Beltran gives me a better defensive presence in CF, power vs BOTH sides and his speed keeps my middle of the lineup from hitting into DP's while simultaneously giving me a far better fielding OF as well.

My pitching is much better than it has performed so far. So we'll see if a better fielding 2B and OF will make a difference.

8 games behind TR and Stoney this early wasn't how I envisioned myself after only 27 games. If it fails and I don't make the post, then at least I gave it a different shot - because I didn't expect to this early in the season anyway. So hopefully it will at least be more fun. Plus, maybe Bonds will actually start hitting against our Division rivals at Dodger - a place where he should see more RHP than at Shea.

He certainly won't be seeing any RH from me tho.

BTW, AT...

You don't ever have to feel bad beeating my teams...I thoroughly enjoy winning, hate losing and if I ever have a 100+ win team against all my favorite players - I might never gloat or rub it in as it isn't my style, but I would sure enjoy it.

Plus I play in Cha Cha Land - which is the Disneyland of MLB ballparks for adults - never a dull moment. I just haven't been around to lite the fun fire cuz I have been working so much since Nov.

But i just got fired from my night job because I finally had a blowout with mgmt over their lazy, incompetent help and altho I will have to replace half my income, I may get to cure my insomnia by working only days and early closes from now on and have my aching joints and health get a chance to disenflame.

So I akm going to take a few nites off, restructure my team, have some martini's and lap dances and "DO DE CHA CHA" like a sissy girl in my red mini skirt and candy apple high heels - like the ones in Wizard of Oz..."I Lika-Dooda-Cha Cha!!!"
