Good God! THAT'S A DEAL! Hard to know how that one will work out, but it looks like there's been a real turn of heart in the ole' Qk household....

Granderson's surely a sound player-- broken finger won't really hurt him too much, I suspect. So much depends on Garko and his upside. He's not been great this spring, but he showed a lot last year. I commend both players for their willingness to stepp into the Great Unknown.

Yeah Cube, there were 2 things motivating me on this deal:

1) My team is ok this year vs RHP but not spectacular after Papi, Thome & Hamilton, and it kills LHP. I really needed 1 more bat with a lot of natural XBHs vs RH to compete well in Comerica, which plays pitcher/neutral this year. Grandy fit that need to a "T".

2) I have no true 1B other than Morales, and even he will DH mostly now with Kotchman at 1B for the Angels. Garko will play 1B and may improve to a 3 range, and also gives me a RH bat at the position, which I lacked. He also may hit 30 HRs this year, kind of a Konerko type in my mind, so that's decent upside.

Sizemore is a killer player and I still love him, but I think Grandy will give me 90-95% of what Sizemore does over the long haul, and with Hamilton also playing CF and hopefully headed for a 2 range, I thought I could take a swing at this one. We'll see how it works out!
